Relocation to a different part of the country is a major event in any persons life so it makes sense to investigate every feasible aspect of the city you are considering as your new home. The state of Florida has many attractive attributes that should be considered when relocating. A very promising site in Florida is the southern coastal towns located there. The Delray Beach economy is something that deserves consideration from serious lookers.

According to the last census the unemployment rate is under the national average and job growth projections over the next few years are rated at over forty percent. The average household income is over sixty thousand dollars a year when there are two employed persons in the home. The normal span of hours of employment for most workers is full time or forty hours per week.

There has been a twenty five year revitalization plan in progress for this city. The downtown area has been put on a master plan schedule by the city commission and the community redevelopment and this has resulted in many new shops, dining spots attorneys, architects doctors and financial businesses. The advent of such vigorous growth in public and private development has inspired many to work, live and play in the Urban Core of this city.

the city leaders have pushed millions of dollars into this area in an effort to produce controlled growth and redevelopment. This slow progress has the effect of continual growth for the economy of this town. With this growth comes new jobs and opportunities for new businesses to thrive.

The largest employer is the medical center but there are over ten other large businesses who employ over two hundred fifty people each. Many of these places of business may be considered retail or service oriented because they cater to the public. Target is one example and others include hotels and lodges in the area.

Businesses with fewer than thirty employees make up the majority of other places of employment. This would include restaurants, boutiques, physical fitness gyms and any other retail and service oriented businesses normally found in cities of this size. The largest number of these smaller businesses can be found on Atlantic Street which runs through the center of town.

Hotels and summer rentals are a large part of this economy during the summer months. Visitors rent cottages and suites and spend weeks in the area walking and exploring the many beaches that border the Eastern side of town. The funds they bring with them when they arrive is spent on the beaches and in the retail stores that can be found on the shoreline. Many also visit the Everglades National Wildlife refuge.

While this is a relatively small city compared to some of its neighbors this city of over sixty thousand offers numerous opportunities for young career minded people and their families. It is also a place that has a very good growth pattern for new businesses. Some larger businesses have already located their corporate headquarters in this area. This area has gained a reputation of a prosperous future for its inhabitants.
