Majority of the average man has heard about the whale. And a good percentile of the populace knows about whales. To some a mention of the word evokes fear and emotion on the same level while to others it creates nostalgic moments that only he or she can relay the thoughts they have. The leviathan nature of these mammals makes them a center of attention for most sea dwellers and onlookers at the same level thus makes Whale watching Channel Islands fun.

Santa Barbara is any watchers paradise, particularly those that love to view the humpback whale. This is because the humpback whale constantly passes through this route whenever it migrating. In a normal year the humpback whale is visible on nine out of the twelve months of a year. The tradition of its migration makes the Santa Barbara stretch very suitable for watching whales and other migratory fish.

Its evidently beautiful, tends to looks harmless and strikingly fast but this strikingly stealthy killer is a wolf is a sheep skin. The orca is its common name and its also known as the killer whale. It rarely goes unnoticed for its beauty is striking. They are found In the Anacapa islands and for all the people who know about the species know not to dare touch it and also not to stand along the shore whenever its around as its known to hunt things found on land near the shore.

The blue one, is the largest mammal roaming the sea, by nature its a calm giant and it rarely attacks any other animal and to make things more complex it is a herbivore thus no flesh eating, more often than not this leviathan mammal is viewed in the Santa Cruz stretch of the sea. And in many occasions it is not seen in one but in a whole pack this is because they travel in whole packs or in some instances a mother and calf.

The channel national Island Park is a watchers paradise. This is because it contains all the other known species of this mammal and also has an extra strike of luck for watchers. It is a favorite spot for the rare grey whale. Despite its low numbers on the seas across the board it is frequently seen in this park in thus making it a tourism hotspot.

A couple of decades ago this activity was not a thing to be talked about rather than be watched the whales were killed for their elegance and massive size as they provided food for the masses and also cooking fat. Slowly but surely this notion began to change as a number of people slowly started enjoying the scenes caused by whales and eventually turned this act into an income generating activity.

The size and nature of these beautiful sea creatures amazes a huge number of people. This has not only being seen among the watchers but also the scientists who encamp along the migratory routes to catch a glimpse and know more about the animals in question.

The whales should be protected as the form a vital part in our eco systems and also form a vital part in our economic lives. This is beauty that mother nature has provided and therefore everyone should play part in protecting and preserving it.
