IATA, the International Air Transport Association, has published a ranking of the most popular international airlines in 2013 Among them, the Hong Kong-Taipei route easily won the charts with more than 4.8 million passengers carried. In second place comes the Dublin-London route with 3.5 million passengers, followed closely by the Jakarta-Singapore line with its 3.4 million travelers.
In the top 5, the first of the world's most popular routes are mainly located in Asia. Not surprising for a continent that is experiencing significant population and economic growth. However, Europe and North America are not so far left out: the cities of London and New York are each present in three of the top 10 routes.
One can also notice that the most popular lines are 70% of the roads at close range.

Among the three most popular domestic routes in 2013: Jeju-Seoul (9.58 million passengers), Sapporo-Tokyo (9.17 million) and Tokyo-Fukuoka (8.34 million).
In the United States, the most popular domestic routes in 2013 were San Francisco-Los Angeles (7.7 million passengers), New York-Miami (5.8 million) and New York-Los Angeles (4.5 million ).
In Europe, the three most popular routes in 2013 were Dublin-London (3.6 million passengers), followed by Amsterdam-London (2.7 million) and London-Milan (2.1 million).
Also according to IATA statistics, the road that recorded the highest growth in terms of traffic in 2013, was Milan-Sao Paulo with 29%.
